ESPORTERS LTD launches the beta version of its sports community site www.e-sporters.com, which links active people involved in sports. The site is targeted at sporters, teams/clubs, fans, sponsors, associations and product and service providers in the sports industry, for all sports and roles, from beginners to professionals.

“I created this site because I want to make a positive impact on the lives of ‘sporters’ who needed a special online meeting place to link with others involved in sports.” states Claire I Powell, founder of www.e-sporters.com. “There are a few things which are quite unique about this site and the business model of the company. We take social responsibility seriously as 10% of earnings will go to a sports award for underprivileged sporters and instead of employing people, the site will be run and promoted by (ex-top)sporters who are business partners in each country.”

The beta site is now live and available in English; it will shortly to be launched in Dutch, French, and Chinese.

The site is very focused on privacy and security with the following unique privacy and security features:

• SPAM/ABUSE functionality: In one click you can flag users as creating abusive content or contacting you with irrelevant information or Spam. Their id is temporarily blocked, immediately checked and if necessary indefinitely blocked by the administrator.
• DOUBLE OPT-IN: Before your registration is activated on the site, you will need to confirm your registration by clicking on a link in an email. If you are under 18 your registration has default settings.
• MESSAGING: There is no public chat functionality on the site, but instead a secure messaging functionality which you can decide to turn on or off. Your email is only visible if you make it so to your contacts and when you receive a message from someone you will see their photo as well as their id and name.
• PRIVACY SETTINGS: Your profile is not automatically created and you do not fill in your profile until you have seen the privacy message, which encourages you to double check your privacy settings.
• BLOCKING YOUR PROFILE: Not only can you decide who sees your personal details, and who can message you, but you can also block your id completely from the site -- this does not need to be done by an administrator.

Basic membership is free to everyone, and for one year after registering all advanced services are also offered free of charge. This site is now and will remain a banner and Google ad free site.
